The proposed 2021 capital expenditures are lower to compensate, for a total expenditure difference of $5k. Here are the highlights of the variance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The budget for 2020 expenses was $18.5mm and the proposed budget for 2021 is $19.5mm. The majority of the variance of $1mm resides in Software Support &amp; Maintenance ($0.57mm). The remainder is related to all other expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overview Software Support &amp; Maintenance :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>More projects in 2021 will have an impact on Operating Expenses than in prior year.<\/li><li>Focus on improving and enhancing existing systems versus creating new.<\/li><li>SL Forms Redesign, SLIP Enhancements, Data Analysis<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In other Expenses the variances are explained as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Professional Development for current employees to expand skill sets.
